Details:

The sizing is that of a postcard: 4″ x 6″
Print is matte. The front (with the art) has a smooth, soft-feel coating. The back is a lime green color, and says “WOMXN IN HIP HOP BY TIFFANY BURRISS” in black lettering, on the bottom left corner. You are able to write on the back.
Each print comes numbered (on the back) and signed.
Colors are bold and vibrant, but may appear different on your screen than in real life.

Introduction that I wrote about Soulcat E-Phife in 2019: Soulcat E-Phife is a DJ, producer, & emcee from the Dominican Republic (but now living in Vienna, Austria). I got put onto @soulcate5 about 6 years ago when I was working with Organized Threat (as a music journalist) & heard her on “For The Moment”. Since then, I’ve been following her movement through music. She has released a total of 4 projects, which are Word Up Soul EP (’11), Word Up Soul II EP (’13), My Fav Beatz mixtape (’15), & Prepare For Warfare EP (’19); the latter is her most polished & best work to date, so be sure to give Prepare For Warfare several listens! Rapping over jazzy boom bap beats, Soulcat has a smooth flow, a laid-back & passionate delivery, slick rhymes, stories to tell, & compelling lyrics. She has a nostalgic vibe, too; Can’t help but nod your head, feel good, & just chill when you listen to her music. However, her subject matter is anything but relaxing, as she spits about deeper topics, like the sexual limitations that society puts on women, police brutality, war in the streets, pain & dark thoughts, working on one’s self-esteem, deep philosophies, the value of time & life, family, love, & more. She’s just as ill on the 1s & 2s, spinning hip hop, dancehall, house, & whatever her heart desires. From what I’ve gathered, she is a part of Femme DMC, which is a Vienna-based hip hop collective made up of women who often share the same stages. She is no stranger to participating in DJ workshops for women & girls, too. She’s currently performing, both as a rapper & spinning records as a DJ. She has previously DJ’d at Electric Springs this past April; rapped at Euro Pride in June; she got married; she did a fashion editorial with Vienna’s Der Standard newspaper in September; she did a live DJ set at a Bahamadia show last month; & she’s already working on new music! FYI: Soulcat E-Phife has been making moves since I last wrote about her in 2019. Other than being a new mother, she’s been making more music, including releasing new videos & unleashing freestyles. Be sure to follow her social media to stay tuned (Instagram, for example).
